Out into the light

Out into the light

‘…The LORD will bring me out of my darkness into the light, and I will see his righteousness’ (Mic. 7:9 NLT).

There are times when everything gets dark. Fear and uncertainty take over. One feels empty and deserted. It’s as if there’s nowhere to turn to. Left, right and centre, everything turns blurry. “How did I get into this mess?” becomes a constant question staring at you. God appears to be nowhere around. Then one concludes that God has failed him. Have you got to a certain point in your wild thoughts where you reached such a conclusion?

A similar scenario was painted by a prophet called Micah. He experienced a very hard time among a most difficult people. He tried to seek for help from men but found out that the Godly people had all disappeared. Those left around were all murderers who would even set traps for their own. The rich connived with corrupt leaders to twist justice. Micah became so skeptical about trust that he said: “Don’t trust anyone – not your best friend or even your wife!” In fact, he concluded that man’s enemies were right in his household (Micah 7:1-6).

Micah acknowledged that it was sin that led to this divine punishment. But praise God for his mercy: “…After that, he will take up my case and punish my enemies for all the evil they have done to me. The Lord will bring me out of darkness into the light, and I will see his righteousness. Then my enemies will see that the LORD is on my side. They will be ashamed that they taunted me…With my own eyes I will see them trampled down like mud in the streets” (Mic. 7:9, 10).

Perhaps you too have sinned and made some mistakes that opened the door for the enemies to strike. Almost everyone had sinned greatly at one point or the other. What matters now is to reposition yourself properly in Christ. I pray that the LORD will bring your enemies to record and give you victory on every side. Keep praying. Keep fasting. Keep holding on to God’s word. I see your change of story manifesting. In Jesus mighty name!

Today’s corporate prayer: I repent of my wrongs. Help me to be correctly positioned in you henceforth. In the name of Jesus!
