Abilities and Graces
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13, NKJV).
Man is endowed with abilities that should help him to maximize his potentials and become what God intends him to be. More so, being a Christian obliges you the responsibility of discovering and developing God’s deposit in your life. We ought to commit ourselves to discovering this divine mandate.
The Word of God expressly tells us that we were fearfully and wonderfully made (See Psalm 139:14), but only few people realise their potentials and fewer still develop and maximize them. How sad! God created everyone for a specific assignment. If discovered, there is no limit to how far we one can go in life. That is the reason why we have to tap into our dormant abilities, untapped talents and innate potentials.
Many people compare themselves with others. That’s pointless. Some people doubt themselves, not realizing it is an invitation to defeat. There are those who get easily discouraged because of previous disappointments in life. This, too, is another hindrance. Some folks procrastinate the implementation of their visions, forgetting that time does not wait for anyone. Before you know it everyone gets old and off we go. Only what we have done with our lives will count to God and to mankind.
Dear brother, stop wasting limited time. Dear sister, step out in faith. Guard your gifts and talents against discouragement, procrastination, indecision, laziness, fear, compromise and sin. May God open the eyes of our inner man to see those hidden treasures that are within us and give us the grace to tap into them. In Jesus name!
