Divine supply

Divine supply

‘And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus’ (Phil. 4:19, NKJV).

Some people’s constant experience of lack makes them doubt if God is truly a provider. A lot of people are constantly bombarded with the thoughts of how to get out of the grip of lack. Lack is the reason for the hunger, debt, malnutrition, desperation, anger, bitterness and depression that so many combat. It is saddening to have no money to run or feed one’s family; foot one’s bills or to meet unexpected financial demands.

In a period like this, when economic recession is taking its toll on many folks, and people’s financial situations are going from bad to worse. A lot of needs stare at many families with little or no cash inflow. Some families even pray for just a meal per day, because feeding twice or three times has become a luxury. In a family where both spouses have lost their jobs, their upkeep is now a matter of the miraculous.

Long ago, there was a great famine in Israel (See II Kgs. 6:24-30). It was so bad that food prices soared to an unimaginably high cost. In fact, women started eating their children. Neighbours’ children mean a delicious meal to once caring women. Everyone grew thinner and thinner. Hunger and desperation loomed over the land. Hope was lost. Help became an impossible phenomenon. Gradually a whole city was being wiped out by hunger. It was a horrible situation indeed.

But amidst these, a message came from above that by the following day there would be abundance of food at incredibly affordable prices. In fact an official of the king told the prophet who gave the message that not even God’s generosity could make such a thing possible. But contrary to his thought, and in a most unexpected way, God fulfilled His word. It happened like the message said (See II Kgs. 7:1-20).

Do you believe that God loves you and wants to help you today? do you believe that God can and will turn your situation around? Do you believe that God is a provider and wants to provide all your needs today? What if God asks you to give Him from the little you have, just like He told a woman to do? She obeyed and received a special surplus package (See I Kgs. 17:8-16). Your supply comes from above, not abroad. I decree today, the Lord shall meet your most pressing need. In Jesus mighty name!

Today’s corporate prayer: O Lord, according to your mercy, give me a pleasant surprise today. In the mighty name of Jesus!
