Do not call us “sexy”

Do not call us "sexy"Do not call us “sexy”

I can vividly recall sometime ago when I commented “happy birthday” on someone’s post , the person replied ‘thanks sexy’, hmmm! Words can’t express how insulted I felt after reading the reply. What does it mean to be sexy? It means to be sexually appealing … ah! ah!! I didn’t expose my cleavage, I didn’t expose my body, I was well covered, I wasn’t sexually appealing. Why did this person use the word “sexy?” But then, I discovered it was only used as a compliment.

I can’t possibly accept that for a compliment. I find it offensive and I wonder why a modest Christian female will respond with “thank you” to someone for saying “she looks sexy”. How can you tell someone thank you for calling you sexy?

  • Some one tells you, you’re the cockroach in his cupboard and you’re happy. When one sees cockroach In a cupboard or anywhere else for that matter, the first instinct will be to kill in order for it not to tamper with your valuables.
  • Someone tells you “you’re the sugar in his tea” and you go all emotional.

The problem is that, I think you’ve forgotten that sugar is the cheapest thing to make tea with. And if you’re the sugar, then who’s the milk or the other beverages that are more expensive? And frankly speaking, sugar is even optional in tea. Consequently, you would likely be considered an option when you accept that.

Why should we (ladies) accept all these nonsense? God has already said I’m the apple in his eye and I’m satisfied with that. We know our worth!

We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people. Hence, we do not want to be sexy, cockroaches or sugar.
