Enduring Life’s Difficulties
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus (Romans 15:5; NIV).
Are you facing a serious challenge? Is somebody making life difficult for you? Do you have some acquaintances that are difficult to ‘flow’ with? I think we all do. In our effort to grow up in life, one thing we need to learn is how to get along with others.
Endurance is one virtue we need if we are going to reach our spiritual and physical goals in life. It is a priceless virtue indeed. The Bible says it was after Jesus had endured the cross that He was made to sit at the right hand of the throne of God (See Hebrews 12:2).
Unless you learn endurance, you will always get easily upset, and then, do something you will be later sorry for. If you get angry over trifles, you need to ask the Lord to help you to overcome yourself. Impatience has actually ruined great opportunities which were coming the way of many folks. Endurance will help us to live in harmony with others, bear tough situations and expect the best in every situation.
Are you gradually becoming impatient? Resist it! Do you want the kind of patience that won’t only help you cope with difficult people but also make you have genuine love for them? Ask God for the grace of endurance. It comes with persistence and time. While impatience will take from you, Godly endurance pays indeed! So, endure your spouse; endure that conspiracy; endure being misunderstood. I pray, may we receive this special grace. In Jesus name!
