God’s redemption plan (2)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him… (John 3:16, KJV).
The last phrase of our Opening text reads: ‘…that whosoever believeth in Him…’ In His love, God offers salvation to whosoever believeth in Him. That whosoever includes blasphemers, adulterers, haters, liars, drunkards, killers, fornicators, armed robbers, assassins, cultists, witch doctors, witches, wizards, thieves, masturbators, and so on.
And the next word is ‘believeth’. Believing is what links us to God for salvation. It is to have faith in God and trust in Jesus. Believing has nothing to do with human rationalization or intellect. It means to entrust Him with your life. It doesn’t say to believe certain aspects of the earthly life of Jesus but to receive His salvation with a simple, child-like faith and trust.
If you don’t trust a bike, you don’t allow it to transport you. When you enter a train, it’s because you trust it. When you transfer funds from your account to another person’s, it’s because you trust the internet. It’s a matter of similar faith when it comes to salvation. You just trust that it is so because God’s word says so.
If you put your faith in the wrong person you will never be saved. If you put your faith in religion or in the church you will never be saved. If you put your faith in your knowledge, good works, morality and popularity, you will not be saved. But if you put it in Christ, He will save you. For whoever believes in Him shall be saved. I pray that your spiritual eyes will be open so that you can receive His life and grace. In Jesus name!
