Greatness
…you shall be above only, and not be beneath…(Deuteronomy 28:13, NKJV).
God is a great God and He is greater than the greatest of men. Connecting to God is to connect to greatness. As children of God, the seed of greatness is in us. We cannot afford not to be great in life. Greatness has to do with excellence, splendour, glory, superiority, magnificence and grandeur. Greatness is like an unending process but that doesn’t mean it is unachievable. Below are some major requirements for attaining it.
1.Connection to God:
Greatness comes from God. He planned everyone’s greatness. You need to seek Him to know His plans for you. If you allow Him, He will not only take you into greatness, but also preserve you to the end.
2. Setting your goals:
Without goals you will have no focus or direction in life. Set your goals and draw a plan of how to achieve them within a given frame of time. This plan should include daily or weekly steps that will help you to reach the goal at the targeted time.
3. Courage:
Anyone aiming at greatness must expect opposition from the devil and criticisms plus misunderstanding from human opponents. But you have to be strong in order to overcome all oppositions. Go for knowledge. Don’t be distracted. Be goal-oriented and resolute in your decision for greatness.
4. Conquer laziness:
Be diligent. Keep moving. Be active. Encourage yourself. Be creative. Take ‘giant’ steps one at a time. Develop yourself. Pursue your vision. Broaden the horizon of your vision. Welcome innovation.
5. Stay with God:
Many people cannot manage greatness. As someone who has not forgotten his little beginning, do not neglect God as He starts to make you great. Be an encouraging example to others. I pray, may we attain true greatness. In Jesus name!
