Humility, Holiness, and Happiness: The three uncommon fruits of genuine salvation

Humility, Holiness, and Happiness: The three uncommon fruits of genuine salvationHumility, Holiness, and Happiness: The three uncommon fruits of genuine salvation

Mathew 3:8 “Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.”

Before we knew the LORD, we were servants of sin, and yielded our members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity. But God be thanked that we are no more servants of sin, but we have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine delivered unto us. And now being made free from sin, we become servants of God.

1. Humility

A real experience of salvation will bring forth good fruits in the life of the convert. Permit me to share this, I remember before I became truly born again, in all I did, I couldn’t bring forth fruits unto holiness. I tried in all my strength, but the captivating law of sin and death, governed within me.

But when the fullness of the light of salvation shone in my dark sinful heart by the mercy of God, delivered me from the power of darkness, made me free from the law of sins and death, and translated me into the kingdom of his dear Son. God’s grace made me become servant of righteousness, and now have fruits unto God.

When a person is really converted, and the grace of God comes into the heart, these three uncommon fruits of the Spirit begin to manifest, Humility, Holiness, and Happiness.

Humility is sequestered from pride, and condescends to self annihilation. The pride is crucified at the cross. He now ministers to the saints and is not puffed up. As our Lord walked, who humbled himself to the death of the cross, even so the converted sinner, will walk in humbleness of mind and is all resigned to “Not my will, but thine O LORD be done.”

He humbles himself before all, not only the elders but even the younger ones, knowing that whereunto were ye called. Humility then leads him to exaltation.

2. Holiness

Holiness also is an indispensable manifestation of genuine conversion. John Wesley said, “Nobody should think of going to heaven by any faith that cannot produce holiness.” The essence of man’s redemption is to bring us back to the state which we lost when our first parents fell.

The state of the new man after conversion is righteousness and true holiness. The body of sin is destroyed, the nucleus of sin is rooted out, the propensity to sin is dealt with, and the believer is made holy within by God’s sanctifying graces, and he has his fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

If holiness is obscure to you after you professed salvation, then check the foundation of that salvation if truly it is on the rock, Jesus Christ. If your faith is anchored on Christ, I tell you truth, it will bring forth fruits unto holiness. True holiness of heart as well as holiness of life. Holiness in all manner of conversation, and growing to the measure and stature of the fullness of Christ.

3. Happiness

Happiness too is a fruit in the life of a believer, not only because he’s always rejoicing because of the hope we have in Christ, but the gracious happiness that flows from holy living. A continuous joyous happiness, always in the soul, not a kind flippant disposition, but the joy of the LORD, making him so happy in the grace of God, and set his affections on things above.

Beloved reader, examine yourself, since you professed faith in Christ, have you experienced the manifestation of these fruits? If yes, have they been increasing in you? Know ye not your own self how that Jesus Christ is in you except ye be reprobates?

Real salvation, and genuine conversion will bring forth humility, holiness, and happiness, leading the believer in the path way of duty to heaven.
