Lazy hands

Lazy hands

Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth (Prov. 10:4, NIV).

Being lazy is to be unwilling to work or make efforts. Lazy people don’t like exertion. To them the best time to do anything is tomorrow. The next best time to do anything is later. One of the hardest things to do is to convince a lazy person that he is lazy.

A slothful person keeps saying: “One of these days, I will do this” or “I will soon start doing that”, but he never gets anything done. It’s as if an excuse-making mechanism is at work within him. He has enough reasons why things are not working according to his plans.

To feel too big to do small things is nothing but indolence. A lazy fellow has a sense of entitlement to things. A diligent man sees an opportunity in every obstacle but the lazy one sees an obstacle in every opportunity. A lazy man watches minutes turn to hours; hours to days; days to weeks; weeks to months; and months to years. Yet he is comfortable doing nothing in particular and going nowhere. Years make a person’s lifetime but everything starts with how you spend your minutes and hours every day! You can tell what your life will look like in the next five years judging by what you do every day.

Laziness does not like anything that disturbs its comfort zone. Laziness makes a person a spectator in the action field of life. It makes a person do less than he can actually do. It’s fine if he postpones till tomorrow something he can do today. He postpones till tomorrow a decision of what he really wants in life and how he hopes to get it done. I pray; if laziness has creepily taken over your life, may its grip upon you wither today! In Jesus mighty name!

Today’s corporate prayer: Foundation of laziness in my life, I dismantle you now! In the most potent name of Jesus!
