Love not the world

Love not the worldLove not the world

1 John 2:15 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

The world is a system controlled by Satan and his demonic host. The world is estranged from God, and reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition. The scripture tells us, that the friendship of the world is enmity with God. Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

But today, we find people who supposedly profess to be believers conversing with the love and affairs of this world. The game of the world, the carousel of the world, the dressing of the world, the music of the world, the fashion of the world, the mentality of the world, the language of the world, the polity of the world is now the hanker of some Christians. The Christians who are supposed to be the salt of the earth, and to season it by their holiness, are now after the things of the world.

Instead of being lights in the world, they are promoters of darkness, advertisers of money making strategies, lovers of worldly celebrities, who are enemy to the cross of Christ. These professed Christians are no longer enthusiastic about the things of God. Even to carry their Bible’s in their hands to church now is difficult. They carry tablet, handset, and use that in the house of God.

More so, when you see them, it doesn’t show that these people are worshippers of God. They are singing and dancing with defiled and corrupt life to a holy God, who is of purer eyes to behold evil. Their actions negate the word of God which says,

“I will therefore that men pray every, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting,” under that solemn indispensable command, “in the beauties of holiness.” But this is no longer how it is now. The world is having much influence on the church, save few who are still resisting, knowing that all that have encomium from the world, are abhorred by God. They seldom preach the truth, so as not to offend the world. They say things that will make the world love them, call them names, exalt them, befriend them, and at the same time heaping to themselves teachers, having itching ears.

The early church was faced with persecution, trials, sufferings, because they were set out to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saint. To this, they pledged themselves, regardless of the cost. Nevertheless, instead of rising to defend the faith, the church is now after sensuality and avarice; lusting after the riches of the world, and using some verses of the scripture to cover their covetousness and hypocrisy.

Oh, froward generation! The Christian comportment which is to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, is now odd. And the lascivious disposition of the world, is now the expression of Christians.

The church who should be distinct from the world with righteousness and true holiness, are now with the world in the mire of corruption. They see holiness as being too over righteous and religious. And they make fun of holiness, disbelieve it, doubt it, disdain and discredit it, even making those who would have hungered for holiness to see it as an impossible attainment.

Although, these people still claim to be Christians, they still are not part of the chosen people of God. The real children of God are holy, they are wise, they are focused on getting to heaven, and are not surprised at what they see. But nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal. The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Remember, there shall be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth, for a great multitude of people who think they can enter into the kingdom of God through the vain assurance of their own carnal mind, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things, and serve not our Lord Jesus Christ. “Everybody does it, doesn’t make it right.” Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. The saints of God are few. Jesus said, they are in this world, but not of this world. I pray we’ll be part of them. Amen.
