Making faith work
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God (I Corinthians 2:5, KJV).
Our faith should rest on God’s word. Anyone who depends on his wisdom, or on men’s wisdom has missed it in life. We need God’s wisdom to make the right decisions and take the right steps. Of course, one cannot expect to be prosperous or successful if he continues to make wrong decisions.
True wisdom comes from following the principles of God’s word. When we allow God’s word to dwell richly in us, we become wise indeed. So what should our attitude be towards God’s word? We must create time for God’s word and read it with an open heart for it can penetrate the deepest depths of our soul (Hebrews 4:12). We must then meditate on what we have read (Joshua 1:8).
But we shouldn’t stop there. We should believe the Word. Hearing it opens the gate and believing it takes us in, to the very presence of the King. One more thing: we should take the final step of receiving.
Believing is not enough; we need to receive God’s promises by faith. When some folks who desired to be healed met with Jesus, He asked them if they had faith that he could do what they wanted. Their faith was the basis for their healing. Dear friend, with your faith in place, you can be assured that receiving your pressing desire(s) is a settled issue. May God’s grace keep your faith alive till your answer arrives. In Jesus name!
