Modern hypocrisy

Modern hypocrisy

Matthew 23:3 – All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

The world in which we live today is full of religious personalities, and so many of us are so much attached to them. Like the scribes, they bind heavy burdens and grievious to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

The corrosive overspreading of hypocrisy that overwhelms many, which has brought so great scandal on true religion, and now begin to be loathsome, is devastating.

Many who claim religion by mouth, altho without deep experience in their hearts, have led many astray by their false claim of votary on the foundation, and precepts of Christianity.

We see alot of evangelists today so assent by men, and they say alot of things, speak mysteries, preach, but do not the things they say.

They talk about prayers, speaking in tongues, and has made many who tho’ without the experience of salvation and real conversion, take up as if they want to bring down heaven. And yet, they themselves are the pest and destroyers of holy desires (true prayers).

We see many who enjoin us to be holy, and yet when we look at their lives, and private conversation, there’s no holiness that we can see. No godliness, no sobriety, no righteousness, no discipline, no temperance, no moderation; but rather we see surfeiting, avarice and sensuality in them.

And them too who tell us about soul winning and evangelism? They bid us do, and yet observe their ways, they only act as the gentile princes who exercise dominion over their populace.

This hypocrisy which we may not term as what it really is, has ravaged the world of religion. And those to whom are enslaved in it, will vie those who knock at it with intrepidity, and knock it hard!
