Peace Amidst Tribulations

Peace Amidst Tribulations

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33; KJV).

If you think you don’t have any problem, it’s your faith and so be it. And if you think you have serious problems, it’s your belief too. Any thought you bow to will eventually rule your life. The bible says ‘as (a man) thinketh in his heart, so is he’ (Proverbs 23:7). ‘Absence of problems’ is more of a fantasy in this real world. The world is so full of problems that everyone has a share in it.

But it is one thing to have problems; and it is another thing for problems to have you. A problem is not a problem indeed until you see it as insurmountable. When you tell yourself that your problem does not have a solution, you have a problem indeed! On the other hand, if you shift your focus from the ‘problem’ to God, it makes you concentrate more on the power of God. The more you do this, the weaker the problem’s hold on you gets.

Another factor is the kind of people and influence you allow around yourself. Some ‘advisers’ have good intentions but somehow, they end up making you hopeless, faithless, confused and frustrated. Their understanding of God’s ways is shallow. So they may take you farther from the truth than closer.

Whatever calls itself ‘the word of God’ must increase your faith in God (Romans 10:17). The source of whatever leaves you demoralized, despondent or faithless should be really questioned. Your belief in God and determination not to give up on God also matter so much. So never accept anything that tells you that you cannot amount to anything in life. God’s and your perspective is what determines what the future holds for you. I pray; receive the divine fire you need to overcome all your obstacles. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: O Lord, detach me from every wrong thing that’s putting off my spiritual fire. In the mighty name of Jesus!
