The Vineyard of the Lord

The Vineyard of the LordThe Vineyard of the Lord

Isaiah 5:1-7

Vineyard is a place where vines are planted. Christians are the vines that God planted. We are God’s vine. God has put so many things in place so that we would be good products. He planted us on a very fertile soil. God placed us in an environment that will help us grow.

The challenges, battles or troubles that come our way are God’s fertilizer for our growth. If not for; troubles, persecutions, trials, disappointments, betrayals, ridicules, etc, we would remain babies in the Lord. God planted us on a fertile hill, his planting us on a hill is his way of protecting us from the attacks of the enemy while we are growing.

Isaiah 5:2
“God dug the soil and cleared it of stones; He planted the finest vines. He built a tower to guard them, dug a pit for treading the grapes. He waited for the grapes to ripen, but every grape was sour.”

Just like in the Garden of Eden, despite everything God put in place to make man comfortable, man still chose to disobey God. God expected us to do well but we chose evil instead

Christians use their mouth to pull people down, they murder with their mouth, they lust, they love money above God, they take bribe, they are involved in examination malpractices, they prostitute, they are good in fornication, they fight shamelessly over trivial things, they commit adultery with the hope that no one is seeing them, they chase sinners away with their actions.

God expects us to be good products, but some Christians are sour grapes in His mouth. God expects us to do the right things, but some Christians will never stop doing evil. We still continue in our secret sins and refuse to forgive those who offend us. We pretend as if we have forgiven those that offended us. We are experts in lying.

We pretend as if we are one in Christ, when actually we are separated by our church doctrines. We pretend to love one another, when actually we do not trust anyone that is not from our tribe or race. We pretend as if we are concerned about other people’s challenges, whereas, we are looking for what to gossip about.

We pretend like we are sad  someone is sick, when in the real sense, we wish he/she dies. We pretend as if we are happy with the man that just bought a car, whereas we are bitter about it. Church members pretend to love one another, whereas, cold war is going on among them.

There will be a lot of surprises on the day rapture will take place because many Christians can’t be trusted, they deceive a lot through their actions and inactions.

Brethren, let’s think about this, what if rapture takes place before we ask God for forgiveness of our sins? What would become our lot? What becomes of our fasting and prayers? What becomes of our evangelism? What becomes of our givings and offerings? Efforts wasted! I pray our efforts will not be wasted in Jesus name

Lying, deceiving, short changing our employers, pride, jealousy, envy, bitterness, hatred, fighting, anger, lust, stealing, unsubmissive, bragging, insubordination, malice, serious love for food and sleep, not ready to apologize etc are now gradually becoming our identity. These things are becoming normal in our lives yet we do not see it.

The devil always makes us believe that it does not matter. A pastor that lied, devil will make him believe he had applied God’s wisdom. Christians of today are now calling what is evil, good and call what is good evil as soon as money is involved. They will turn darkness into light and light into darkness as soon as the opposite sex is involved. They will call what is bitter sweet and what is sweet bitter as soon as ladies are involved. They will pronounce the innocent, guilty and guilty innocent as soon as money changes hands.

Are we going to allow the effort of Jesus be in vain over our lives? What type of grapes are we; the good ones or the sour type that Jesus will spit out of His mouth? “Listen!” says Jesus. “I am coming soon! Happy are those who obey the prophetic words of this book!” Revelations 22:7

I pray that we shall not be sour grapes in the mouth of Jesus on the last day in Jesus name.
