TodayToday

‘…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation’ (II Corinthians 6:2, KJV).

There are many things that can wait in life, but there are a few others that we ought to take as a matter of urgency. One of such things is the issue of our salvation. The Bible says in our opening text that there is no better time for salvation than now.

The Bible also says: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort…” II Timothy 4:2. Those of us entrusted with this message should share it so that those who need to be saved can become redeemed.

There was a great evangelist by the name D. L. Moody. He made a particular great mistake which he continually regretted even long afterwards. According to him, he had been holding a preaching programme in Chicago. So far, he had his largest attendance that very night. He was talking on salvation and redemption, but he began to feel tired towards the latter part of his message. Because of his physical state, he told the people that he gave them a week to think over the message, so that when they would come together again, they could give their response.

Though another week came indeed, nothing remained the same. After Moody had left the stage that day, a soloist began a song. But that song had not ended when screams of bells and sirens overwhelmed the song. The great Chicago fire had begun! Of course, lives were lost in their hundreds and tens of thousands were rendered homeless. Definitely, some of those who heard Moody’s message died in the inferno. He regretted ever postponing the issue of souls’ salvation.

Another year is going to an end. For how long will you continue to live for vanity? Some folks who started this year promising to give all to the Lord have returned to vain earthly pursuits. They have pushed everything about surrendering their lives to Jesus aside.

Dear friend, you have an enemy who doesn’t want you to be saved and he is bent on doing anything to achieve this aim. Men could be bribed but not God or death. Once life is over, judgment is inevitable. Beloved, now is the accepted time. Come to Jesus today. May your life not be a waste of heavenly opportunities. In Jesus name!

Today’s Corporate Prayer: We break the power of spiritual ignorance in our midst. In Jesus mighty name!
