Walking with God

Walking with God

The people are blockheads! They stick their fingers in their ears so they won’t have to listen; They screw their eyes shut so they won’t have to look, so they won’t have to deal with me face-to-face and let me heal them (Matthew 13:15, MSB).

Even though there is one God, He means different things to different people. What God means to you is a matter of the level of your spiritual growth. For example, some people who claim to believe in the greatness of God act like He is constrained by natural limitations. Rather than allow the word of God to direct their lives they live in fear and are a slave to what people think about them. Worse still, their lives are controlled by whatever is happening around. They cry over matters that they could have managed effectively if they were more serious with their spiritual lives.

There are also those who are afraid to have any serious dealings with God. They are ready to be committed to their jobs, businesses, careers and even their families. But don’t talk about commitment to God. Don’t admonish them to step up their prayer lives. Don’t even say anything to them about paying attention to spiritual growth. If you do, they get offended. In fact they believe no one should tell them about their life in the first place because it is none of anyone’s business.

If you don’t personally know who God is, you might be praying without believing, attending church services without having joy in it, or facing a hard time without the hope that God is at work to give you victory. At such you lack the faith to persevere and you lack the strength that comes from having the joy of the Lord.

Dear friend, it’s good to do a review of your spiritual state. The Bible says the spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are sons (and daughters) of God. Does your spirit confirm to you that you are God’s? Or is there some doubt in your heart about it? It is time to connect back to God and acquaint yourself with Him. I pray, receive the grace to do so. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: I refuse to remain a spiritual toddler. In the name of Jesus!
