What matters after death?

What matters after death?

I have seen and heard people passing instructions to their children on how they should be buried, but does it really matter?

  • Does it really matter what celebrities grace the burial ceremony?
  • Does it really matter what notable men of God attend the burial ceremony?
  • Does it really matter what the cost of the casket is?
  • Does it really matter what guest artiste performs during the burial ceremony?
  • Does the number of cows killed really matter?
  • Does the number of people that attend the burial really matter?
  • Does the type of currency spent in the burial ceremony really matter?
  • Does the type of “aso ebi” used during the burial really matter?
  • Does the prayers prayed for the corpse really matter?

Looking at the rich man and Lazarus in the Bible, Lazarus died in penury. Many people didn’t even know that he died, not to talk of attending his funeral. It is only his close relatives that were not ashamed of him. He was buried anyhow, no special ceremony about his burial.

Not quite long, the rich man also died. President, Governors, ministers, VIPs, and celebrities were all in attendance. There was public display of money. People used money to compete with each other. Money was sprayed as if it was not worked for. Everyone ate to his satisfaction. Different artistes performed on that day.

Those who could not walk, begged to be carried to the place. Those who were blind, begged to be carried to the venue. In fact, the whole land was shaken. Reporters were on ground to give live coverage. The best casket was used to bury Mr. Rich Man.

Whereas, it was a different story in the other world (spirit). The poor Lazarus was in the bosom of Father Abraham. He made it to heaven. He was at peace. He was totally restored, no more wounds and injuries on his body. His time of joy had finally come.

The rich man on the other hand was in a place of torment. He had enjoyed while on earth without thinking of heaven and without amending his ways. When he could no longer endure the torment, he cried out, “Father Abraham! Take pity on me, and send Lazarus to dip his finger in some water and cool off my tongue, because I am in great pain in this fire!

Unfortunately for him, his request was not granted. It will be interesting for you to discover that till now, that is, over 2000 years after, his request has not been granted and IT WILL NEVER BE GRANTED FOR EVER AND EVER.

People celebrated his burial here on earth without knowing that he was in great pain in the other side.

My friend reading this, are you aware that someone is always watching you? Be it in the morning or midnight? And the ONE watching you cannot be bribed on the day of your judgement. He’s righteous, He won’t lie or bend His standards because of you.

Amend your ways today because you will surely give account of how you lived your life. He knows all that you are thinking. There is nothing secret before Him. You may deceive people but you cannot deceive Him because His eyes can see everything. Nothing can be hidden before Him.

Wherever you are, He’s watching you. Whatever you are doing, He’s watching you. Those sins you are committing when your parents, partner, boss, or pastor is not present, He’s seeing you.

It is time to start doing good. It is time to stop your wicked acts. It is time to end all ungodly sexual relationships. It’s time to end all malice. It’s time to stop all secret sins. Give your life to Jesus and repent from all your sins today.

Are you ready? Say this powerful prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner. Please forgive me my sins. I confess with my mouth that you are my Lord and Saviour. I believe that God raised you from death. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. I say goodbye to the devil. Please write my name in the Book of Life.

I pray God will clear away all hindrances that can stop you from making heaven in Jesus name.
