Why you need to pray

Prayer is an evolving means of interacting with God, most frequently through spontaneous, individual, unorganized form of petitioning and/or thanksgiving. Praying is a Biblical principle and part of God’s command to us.

Luke 18:1 “Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).”

1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly].”

Thus, it’s important to communicate with God frequently and there’s no better way to do that other than by praying. A daily prayer allows us to strengthen our relationship with God. God listens each time you pray (as long as you’re not dripping of sins); you would see him answer those prayers in the most unexpected ways as you keep bringing your petitions before him with faith.

Why you need to pray ceaselessly

People who have been confronted with the supernatural understand the necessity of prayer better. Prayerlessness can wreak both physical and spiritual havoc in one’s life. Therefore, you need to pray fervently as often as you can.

These are some of the reasons why you need to pray:

1.  God reveals his plan and purpose for your life in the place of prayer: Life purposes are sought out in the place of prayer. Great men and women like Reinhard Bonnkke, Kathryn Kuhlman, Eliza Davis George, etc would never have had done the great things God used them to accomplish if they didn’t find out God’s plan for their lives in the place of prayer.

2.  Through prayer, you receive the capacity to turn dream to reality: Greatness in life starts from the realm of dreams. Many have died with their dreams because they perhaps, worked but refused to pray. Others prayed and worked theirs into reality. Joeph is a perfect example of the later.

3. For a healthy spiritual life: Prayerlessness leads to a sick spiritual life and/or spiritual death. The life of a spiritually sick believer would be devoid of the Fruit of the Spirit(Galatians 5:22). The Fruit of the Spirit is a sign of spiritual growth and of course a healthy spiritual life.

4.  You’re endued with power in the place of prayer: You connect directly to God’s Throne Room in the third Heaven when you pray and the devil can’t stand the enormous power you wield at that point. Without an iota of doubt, prayer increases one’s spiritual strength and power. Have you ever binded a demon in your dream and it simply laughed at you? It’s a sign of spiritual weakness. Your prayer life needs to be strengthened.

5.  God unfolds deep secrets to his children who prayer: God unveils kingdom secrets to those who pray. Also, the devil’s destructive plans are made known to God’s children who pray. Such have prevented and would keep preventing unimaginable disasters and misfortunes in the lives of believers who take prayer seriously.

6.  You’re empowered to live righteously when you pray: The more you pray, the less prone you are to sin. Also, prayerlessness makes you vulnerable to sin and sin gives the devil free access into your life.

7.  Constant Prayer keeps you on the narrow path that leads to heaven: The implications of the above is that, heaven might be unattainable without ceaseless prayer.

Finally, the answer to prayers come according to God’s timing. Hence, it requires us to keep our faith strong while patiently waiting for the answers. Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.”
