 Channels of His Power

But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God…(John 1:12, KJV).

If power is not important, God would not have given power to His children. Below are some sources of power to God’s children:

1.Power of Sonship: Our Bible text above shows us that by receiving Jesus we receive the power of sonship (and daughterhood if you like).

2. Power of the Word: Mark 12:24 says, ‘Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?’ In this text, we see that there is a direct link between knowing the scriptures and experiencing the power of God. Not knowing or understanding the word of God translates to lack of power.

3. Power of the Gospel: Rom. 1:16 says, ‘For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth….’ Your level of commitment to the propagation of the gospel is a determinant of how much of God’s power you can experience.

4. The Power of the Holy Ghost: According to Acts 1:8, ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. Receiving the fullness of the Holy Ghost is a major source of power made available to us.

5. The Power of Prayer: James 5:16 (AMP) says, ‘The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available…’ God’s great power is made available to man in the place of fervent and consistent prayer life.

These are five major channels of God’s power for His children. I pray, receive the grace to connect to His power channels. In Jesus mighty name!
