No holiness no heaven

No holiness no heaven

Hebrews 12:14 “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”

It goes without saying that holiness is a must possession of a heavenward citizen. Holiness of heart and life before God and before men is not to be seen as a strange thing because God himself is holy, and hath not called us unto uncleaness, but unto holiness. And the LORD knows that heaven is a holy place, the way to heaven is a highway of holiness, and only saved souls who live in holiness will eventually make it to that place on the final day.

Therefore, since ye know this, happy are ye if you do them. Hence, we’re called to a life of holiness. A life without blemish, and without spot. A life of onward sanctification. A life of total freedom from sin. We cannot patch it, we cannot try to amend it, we cannot form our theology about holiness, neither can we try to modernize it. If we are not holy as we ought to be, irrespective of our title, or whatever we’ve done while professing religion, we may still miss heaven, and be cast away for ever and ever.

Think about this. Holiness was possible for some persons in the old testament before Calvary, why do we now think it’s no longer possible? Samuel was a model of holiness. This great prophet of Israel lived a holy life.

And by the grace of God, he was able to come before the people of Israel to say, “Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind my eyes therewith? and I will restore it to you. And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man’s hand.”

What a life worthy of emulation. Since you’ve been a Christian, should we come to your place of residence and make inquires about your life, don’t you think they’ll be somewhat against you? If we cannot live a holy life in this dispensation of abundant grace, Samuel will condemn us on the last day.

Brethren beloved of the LORD in this precious faith, let us strive to be holy. Heaven is too holy so that there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie; but they which are written in the book of life. The crucial question here is, are you holy?

It’s not about preaching. Think about Prophet Isaiah, he was already preaching, a man of God, saying to the people, “Come now and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Preaching vigorously, not until the year king Uzziah died. And he saw the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. And he saw one of the angels cry unto another when they beheld the glorious God’s holiness.

And when this man heard holiness proclaimed from heaven, he said, “Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of host.”

Let’s not deceive ourselves. The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal. And the LORD knoweth them that are his. Those who are after charismatic flamboyance, making noise with speaking in tongues to keep their reputation, and not living in holiness, when we get to heaven we may not see them. Because it is written, “without holiness, no man shall see the LORD.
