His glory revealed

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1, NKJV).

The situation of God’s people before the declaration above was very pathetic. They had been taken as captives to a foreign, idolatrous land. Their cities had been destroyed and made desolate. Parents had lost their children and many had lost their spouses and families. A once glorious and prosperous people were now down in depression and defeat. Then God’s word came to them. “Arise, shine!” God also gave them two reasons why they had to heed His two commands.

The first reason was because their light had come and the second one, because the glory of the Lord was risen upon them. The first reason suggested that they were in darkness before God’s word came. Darkness had put them down but now that light had come, they ought to arise and reveal the glory that was concealed by the darkness they were in. Of a truth, no one can shine who is in darkness.

When a man encounters God’s word, his darkness vanishes. That’s why the Bible says: “The entrance of Your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple” (Psa. 119:130). But he must open the door of his heart to God’s word, so that the rays of heavenly light can penetrate the thick darkness prevailing in there. The truth is, except the light of God finds its way into a heart, all the precious things God has deposited there remain undetected and unutilized.

No matter the heavenly deposits in your life, you remain in darkness until you open your heart to God’s word. Living in sin is tantamount to living in darkness. Sin shuts out the light of God from accessing the heart of man. Having no interest in your spiritual growth keeps you down in darkness. Surrounding yourself with purposeless people will hinder your shining.

Are you ready to arise and shine? Then, open your heart to God’s commands today. Get up from spiritual weakness. Shake the dust of carnality off yourself. It’s time for glory restoration. Recoveries are being enforced. Profitable relationships are being restored. Failure is turning to success. Lack is turning to abundance. Sickness is turning to blossoming health. Breakdown is turning to breakthroughs. Everything is turning around for good. So, do as God as said: “Arise and shine!”

Today’s corporate prayer: I receive divine illumination into my life. I arise and shine henceforth. In the name of Jesus!
