Working Diligently

Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ (Colossians 3:23, 24, NLT).

Wherever we are working and in whatever capacity we are serving right now, we should constantly remember that Christ is our real Employer. Being our boss, He expects our best and promises us an inheritance as a reward.

He expects our best in our quiet times with Him. Through this He empowers us by His word and gives us the stamina to withstand the devil’s wiles. When we do our best by giving material things to others, we will not only be blessed but also realize how our giving can help others. In serving others, giving our best blesses us with deep satisfaction and more intimate relationships. All these blessings come to us because we have a faithful Employer who rewards faithfulness.

Are you getting discouraged because you feel you should be doing something different from, or better than, what you are doing now? Do you carry out your duty haphazardly because you feel you are not recognized by men? The Master you are serving is Christ, not men. He is the one who will give you your reward. You can actually learn to trust Him. I pray; may we receive divine strength to carry out our duties to the best of our abilities. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: My Lord and Master; help me to give my best in my duties and responsibilities today; and help me to avoid unnecessary distractions, so as not to miss my reward, in Jesus name!
