Delivered from fear

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears (Psalm 34:4, KJV).

Every breakthrough requires valour. If about a century ago anyone had predicted that the kind of scientific and technological breakthroughs we enjoy today would actually come to be, a lot of people would have treated it as an unrealistic or foolish prediction. Some of us know that people believe new things after they see them work, but never before.

I read about something a commissioner of the United States, C. H. Duell, said in 1899. He said: “Everything that can be invented has been invented.” What’s your reaction to that statement? I believe if the man is alive today, he would have been wondering how and why those words actually came out of his mouth. But mind you, many of us have a similar way of thinking.

Why are we so averse to change? ‘Fear’ of mockery in case of failure and ‘not wanting to be stressed– physically or emotionally’ are two major reasons. Some of us stopped learning because they think they have attained a level where it is no longer necessary to learn. They fear failure and opposition so much that they don’t pursue their vision. They fear to change their job so as not to ruin their monthly pay and their pension.

If you have a fear, then seek the Lord like the psalmist. If you do, He will hear you and deliver you from your fears (Psalm 34:4). But if you keep imposing limitations on yourself through fear, don’t blame anything or anyone for your lack of initiative. I pray; may we receive divine wisdom and courage to take the step of faith that will mark a total turnaround in our lives. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: I receive divine boldness to move forward in the direction of my divine destiny without looking back. In the mighty name of Jesus!
