Don’t turn around to the things you left behind

Don’t turn around to the things you left behind

Luke 9:62 “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hands to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

By the grace of God, the Lord has brought you out of sin, and has saved you by his marvellous grace, therefore you must forsake the past and be heavenward.

The things you used to do, or the vain things that charmed you most, never return to them again. Burn those bridges that will take you back to the world and set your face like a flint and walk right into the promised land. You’ve set your feet on God’s road, run not as one that beateth the air, but so fight the good faith of faith that ye may obtain eternal life to which thou art called.

But know this, some without may taunt and mock you, some will ridicule the profession of your faith, some may oppose your stand for scriptural holiness, but never allow anything take your heart away from the cross. Satan will also tempt you, and want to cause you to secretly sin against God by presenting temptations, but you must resist the devil and strive against sin. Give no place to the devil, but be sober and run that ye may obtain.

You have gone too far to fall, it’s not time to contemplate if you should continue; your crown is nigh thee. Strive to enter in with purifying faith, and godly fear. And the Lord who is rich in grace and mercy, to the end may he stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

This we know that one day, we shall see the Lord if we hold fast our confidence and profession of our faith stedfast till the end. Because blessed be our God who according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Hence, because of this great assurance and hope that we have in our journey to heaven, let’s not be careless to lose, but to maintain good works, and follow peace and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.
