Facing trying times

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (James 1:12, KJV).

People who excel in life pass through one ‘test’ or the other. No student gets promoted to a higher class unless he is tested and deemed worthy of promotion. Tests, when endured and overcome, makes us stronger in the Lord and makes one an exemplary source of encouragement to feeble and unstable Christians.

There are ancient heroes who endured uncommon tests in the Bible. Abraham only entered into God’s covenant of everlasting blessings and increase after passing God’s test (See Genesis 22:1, 16-18). Job’s affliction by the devil was not without God’s knowledge. The situation tested his level of commitment to God.

Most temptations come from Satan to destroy us. He wants us to fail and miss out on God’s plan for our lives. But when God tests us, it’s for your own promotion and prosperity – both now and after now. As God’s children, everything He does or allows is for our ultimate good.

God promises to recompense you when you endure and overcome your test. Are you being tested in any way? Endurance and continuous commitment to the things of God must be maintained if you want success and testimonies. May you continue to wax stronger in the Lord no matter what the devil throws at you. In Jesus mighty name!
