Growing faith

So then faith cometh by hearing…the word of God (Romans  10:17, KJV).

Many of us are praying for faith, great faith! But not all of us actually pay enough attention to God’s word on how faith comes. The Bible says faith comes ‘…by hearing…the word of God’ (Rom. 10:17). Praying is important; and so are other Bible injunctions. But as far as developing our faith is concerned, the word of God is non-negotiable.

Another factor we need to understand is; we are at different levels of faith. Your level of faith depends on the levels of your spiritual enlightenment and your commitment to exercising your faith. A person’s level of faith might be too low to get another’s kind of result.

You have to start developing your faith from where you are right now. For example, you can’t expect a Level-5 kind of result when your faith is at Level-2. You might hear of a result produced by a higher level of faith and start to claim it. If it doesn’t work, it’s not because it is impossible, it only means you have to grow your faith from little faith to great faith. And this is only achieved by constantly feeding your spirit and soul with God’s word and exercising your faith in the same.

For example, it might be easier for Andrew to believe God for N1m than for Becky to believe God for N20, 000. The difference is that Andrew is ahead of Becky as far as faith for financial capacity is concerned. Becky, on the other hand, might find it easier to believe God for supernatural healing than Andrew. As we can see, wherever you channel your faith it works for you. So, just like a mustard seed starts as a grain and ends up becoming a very big tree (Lk. 13:19), make your faith grow by believing, praying and and expecting God to act on your request. I pray, may we keep growing in faith day by day. In Jesus mighty name!

Today’s Corporate Prayer: O Lord, help my faith in you to grow beyond its present level. In Jesus mighty name!
