Mathew 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth the field.”
Holiness is indispensable. When God takes hold of a man, and he sanctifies that man, cleanses that man, and makes him holy, so that his thoughts, his mind, his heart, his spirit, his actions are all holiness unto him, that man will never want to lose such gracious experience.
Holiness is not what we discuss meanly. That’s why the scripture says, “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. This scriptural verse is saying, do not talk about the deep things of God to those whom you know are wallowing in sin. Neither declare the great things God hath done for your soul to profane, furious, persecuting wretches.
A person who haven’t experienced what you’ve got may disdain and belittle it. He may not understand what God has done inside of you, and still looks at you as the kind of person that he used to know. Rather than speaking of such gracious pearls to them, conserve it within, and display it by your life and disposition to them: let them see the evidence of sanctification in you.
More so, God expects us to so cherish this holiness, bind it about our neck, stablish it upon the table of our hearts; cause it is light that shineth brighter and brighter, unto the perfect day. Others may not see the necessity of giving up all they have for holiness. But you, who know the worth, hence, treasure it and keep yours with fear and trembling. Don’t ever allow it slip off even for a day.
Keep watch over it always by prayer and supplication, as we see the day approaching. And when the Lord shall come, we will not be ashamed; for so an entrance shall be ministered unto us abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Because we kept ourselves in sanctification and honor, possessing the greatest gracious treasure (holiness), without which no man shall see the Lord.
