Unmoved by Happenings

‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philiphians 4:6, NIV).

Life is full of cares. Everyone, irrespective of their stage in life, is tackling one challenge or the other. An unemployed graduate is thinking of a high-paying job. A bachelor or bachelorette is concerned about getting happily married.

A married person is thinking about the total well-being of his spouse and how to raise a God-fearing and prosperous family. As one ages, he might start to battle with health challenges and other serious family concerns.

In life, you are either just out of a challenge, or in one, or about to face one. Sadly, the reality of the challenges of life has created fear in the hearts of many people. Fear now makes them to see problems where there is none, or a big problem where there is a minor issue. Fear creates more problems for people instead of solving the one at hand.

Perpetual fear has destroyed the health of some people and sent others to their early graves. Fear has, alongside worry, anxiety, pessimism, discouragement, doubt, procrastination, indecision, lack of motivation, envy, frustration, whatever will be will be attitude, crippled the lives of many folks. As a child of God, problems, challenges, trials, persecutions, rejection, and so on, cannot overcome you, but fear can.

Whatever you fear has overcome you. Fear is an indication that you are no longer in touch with God. It shows that you now pay more attention to the devil’s words and that you’ve not been spending enough time with God. Once you start feeding voraciously on God’s word again, your fears will vanish; and your hope, confidence, provision and victory will emerge. I pray, receive grace to remain strong, even in the face of averse situations. In Jesus name!
