Climbing higher

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully… This is the generation of them that seek him… (Psalm 24:3-6, KJV).

Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?’ ‘Who shall get to the Lord’s mountaintop of glory? The answer: ‘He that has clean hands…’ Are your hands clean? Do you touch what you are not supposed to touch? Do you steal with your hands? And the next is to have a pure heart. A pure heart is ever receptive to the Lord’s admonitions and instructions. A pure heart does not get offended when corrected by God’s word.

People who lift their soul to vanity constantly feed their soul with sinful and unspiritual thoughts. What do you constantly think about? What discourages you easily? What takes your time? What’s the first thing you think about when you wake up? What’s the last thing you think about before dozing off in sleep? Whose company do you enjoy and why? Each time you pick your phone where do you go to first? What kinds of pictures or videos do you enjoy seeing? The answers to these questions show if your soul is lifted to vanity.

And then those who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord are those that seek Him. Of a truth, God’s seekers will go places. If you are a God seeker, you will realise that where you are now was not where you used to be. No one who is a God seeker remains in the valley. You are bound for higher grounds. We are movers and shakers for the Lord. We know it. We believe it. We say it. We are a generation of them that seek Him. Are you?

You may not think highly of yourself. But you can still ascend to God’s high places. If you haven’t given your life to Christ, do so now. And then, desire to ascend higher and higher in Christ. Are you ready to feed regularly on God’s word? Are you ready to be addicted to seeking God? Will you seek to be a God pleaser and make Him your highest priority? Will you shut worldly vanities and companionships out of your heart? Those are the ways to God’s high place. May we all get there. In Jesus mighty name!

Today’s corporate prayer: Lord, visit me with your cleansing fire and empower me to ascend into your holy hill. In the name of Jesus!
