Stepping into newness

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland’ (Isaiah 43:19, NIV).

Why do we like new things? It’s simply because new things are new and they give a new experience. Everyone wants to experience something different and better. The joy of looking gorgeous in your new dress, exploring your new phone, living in a new environment, assuming a new position, cruising around in your new car, being admired and congratulated, and so on, can be deeper than words can express.

Even God knows the joy of experiencing newness. That’s why He said: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland”. Perhaps you are in debt and you seem to be in a financial desert. God is making a way out for you. He’s going to bring you into a rich financial soil where you shall experience abundance and productivity.

Have you been praying about something for a long time? This present state is old and its expiry time has come. A new time of answers to prayers is here because God is doing a new thing! Are you having problems with your spouse or marriage? Expect newness. Have you been praying about a change of environment? Do you feel the job you are doing now is ‘old’ and you need a new one? God’s doing a new thing!

Have you overstayed your welcome at a particular point in life? Do you want more of God’s anointing? Have you been trying to get free from an addiction for a long time? Have you been desirous of perfect health for months or years? Do you desire a new or your first car? Do you desire a better residential apartment? Are you confused about the direction to take in destiny? Whatever the case is, God is making a way where there seems to be none!

Dear friend, the oldest thing that needs to go in life is the old nature of sin. Christ gives New Life to all who will come to Him. By asking Him to, He can remove all the hindrances to experiencing new things in us. Studying and meditating on God’s word renews our mind, and getting addicted to praying translates our desire for newness into a reality. Will you cooperate with the One who promised newness? Only then can newness be experienced. May God help you.

Today’s corporate prayer: Father Lord, take my life into an unending season of newness. In the mighty name of Jesus!

Feel free to share.
