Drive

‘…Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” ’ (II Kgings 2:9; NKJV).

Every great person has a drive for fulfillment. This was exemplified by the life of Elisha. When asked what he wanted before his master would be taken away from him, Elisha simply requested for a double portion of his master’s anointing. Today so many have lost the drive to move higher. They misplace their priority. They aim low and tolerate a less-than-ideal life. They allow the devil to make them believe that they are unwanted, irrelevant and nonentities.

Due to this they become goalless and aim for nothing really great. They fail to work on themselves but keep making excuses. They blame the government, their parents, their spouses, their work and even their environment for their situation. Many times, we refuse to take responsibility for our faults. We don’t stop to really evaluate ourselves so as to see why we are not really forging ahead in life.

Instead of motivating themselves to action, so many have become discouraged and reduced themselves to complainers. Instead of being prayerful and diligent about manifesting the glory which God has deposited in them, a lot of folks waste useful time chatting away the period of their divine assignment and watching soul-defiling programmes on the TV. They use the time that could have been invested into meaningful and productive purpose for unprofitable gossip and slander.

Dear reader, becoming a person of greatness is a process. We must realize the uniqueness of our gifting and work with God so as to be transformed into our heaven-ordained greatness. But we must store up the word of God and its inspiration power in our spirit and give no room for crippling or demoting thoughts. We must be ready to face and defeat every stumbling block. We don’t have to do these by our own strength. Instead we must use the strength of God made available to us in His words. You cannot afford to remain stagnated. Receive the motivation to move higher. In Jesus name!

Today’s Corporate Prayer: O God, we ask that you increase our prayer stamina and fill us with prayer fire. In Jesus mighty name!
