God’s abundant mercy on true penitents

God’s abundant mercy on true penitents

Isaiah 55:7 – Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

The LORD God has promised forgiveness to all true penitents, who will come to him. The word of God is true, the scriptures cannot be broken, and the promises of God stand sure.

The call to repentance is to all men, and even to the vilest of all sinners. God’s anger which daily burns against impenitent sinners can only be appeased by genuine repentance: and mediate atonement by the blood of Christ.

Therefore, as you go through this message, whoever you are, the LORD knows you. And if you are still living in sin (secretly or publicly,) the LORD is calling you to total repentance; and that you forsake your sins, and come before the cross, and find pardon and forgiveness from the guilt and power of sin.

Impenitent hearts who rebel against this call, being hardened by the deceitfulness of sin, shall incur the greatest wrath of God. But the true penitents who humble themselves before the LORD, insomuch that they cannot lift up their eyes unto heaven, but smote upon their breasts, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner, will procure abundant mercy, and inward peace of reconciliation with God.
God bless you for reading patiently.
