Gospel Campaign Crew!
Initially, I was reluctant to go since I was still new in town but Tomike (my trainer’s daughter) encouraged us by taking the bold step to knock.

Whenever I see children and teenagers playing on the street, the thought of starting a bible club as a way of engaging them with the Gospel comes to me. It reminds me of the need to look for creative ways to pass on to the next generation what I had received. I would, occasionally, share the gospel with a few but get clueless on how to help them grow their walk with Jesus. However, the training I attended in May 2018, helped me gain perspective on how to effectively engage and develop children and young people in their walk with Jesus for life.

Shortly after the training; I met Destiny- (a teenager, who resides in my neighbourhood) and chatted with him. I asked if we could read and discuss a study booklet I got from the training. He was surprised that a stranger could approach him in a friendly manner and that warmed his heart. He consented but suggested I seek permission from his guardian.

Before the day we scheduled to meet, he had introduced me as a Bible lesson teacher to another mother of 3 who leaves her children in his custody every day after school. And that was how an opportunity to engage Destiny and others opened. We used The 17 Stories course with exciting pictures from the Book of Hope. Then I met with Destiny separately in a Bible study to help him learn discipline for fruitful Christian living.

One Will Become a Thousand
Destiny and the kids

In August, we did a door-to-door gospel campaign to invite kids in the neighbourhood to join us in the exciting adventure of discovering God’s ultimate purpose through Bible stories; trusting that it will lead us to Jesus the only saviour who rescues us from sin and its consequences. To our amazement 5 new children joined us and so we began the Bible Club in my house.

It’s a privilege to be available to partake in this great work that God is doing everywhere. I’m excited that God is connecting me with the parents of these children as well.

Please, pray that they will grow in the knowledge of the scriptures, which is able to make them wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15).

Thank you for your prayers and support.

  1. Great and inspiring story. In every child is a potential for an oak tree.
Well done and more grace to you.
