Preach the Word

Preach the Word

1 Corinthians 9:16 – For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

Just before our Lord ascended up into heaven, he gave a commission to his immediate disciples and through them to all believers of all ages, saying, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” This is the indispensable duty of every true Christian.

My heroe (John Wesley) said in one of his quotes, ” You have one business on earth – to save souls”.

This was the particular and perculiar business of the early Christians and they took the bull by the horn. They went eveywhere boldly declaring the resurrection of Christ. Despite the severity of intense persecution, wherever Providence takes them, they went on preaching the word.

Can we find Christians today like Paul the apostle? A man sold out to the gospel of Christ, to the point that he counted not his life dear unto him. A man that was ready not only to be bound for the sake of the gospel, but also to die for the Lord.
Can we find Christians today like Stephen, St. Peter, St. John, Philip, and the rest among others? Men of spiritual substance that turn the world upside down by the preaching of the gospel.

Can we find a man like John Wesley who declared that the world was his parish. Thereby making it his obligation that wherever he finds himself, he judge it meet, right, and his bounded duty to declare unto all that are willing to hear the glad tidings of salvation.
Can we find a man like William Kumuyi a passionate and determined soul winner. A man whose passion for souls is seen beyond the pulpit preaching, but by eye-witnesses of his personal private life.

CAN WE FIND SUCH CHRISTIANS? IN WHICH LAND DO THEY LIVE?

And Paul the apostle nearing the end of his ministry gave young Timothy a Charge saying, “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season…”

As the Lord has helped me to write this, he is hereby giving us a challenge to preach the gospel in all the ways we can, by all the means we can, in all the places we can, to all the people we can, at all the times we can, as long as ever we can.
By the grace of God, I choose to be faithful to my Lord Jesus Christ. Reader, how about you?

Let us go into all the markets, towns, communities, villages, cities and preach. In the buses, via social media’s, morning and evening cries, sharing of tracts, and all available means to make Christ fully known to the world.
