Prioritizing insight (2)

Be still, and know that I am God… (Psalm 46:10, KJV).

If we are willing to be still in God’s presence, and to listen attentively to Him, He will give us deep and life-changing insights. But to be still, our busy schedules will be affected. We will need to be alone with God and wait for guidance and revelations through His word. This can be quite difficult in this age of instant this and that.

To receive new insights, one might also be open to new ways of thinking. We might have to question the status quo, even if most people don’t like to think differently from ‘how it has been’. We need to let go of the habit of ‘that’s how it has always been done’. Insights might also involve doing a thing differently from how it has been done over the years.

To be still means to quieten our body and soul. At times we are able to calm our body, but not the mind. It keeps wandering about. Yet we don’t have to give up. Learning to be still requires time and spiritual effort. By praying and meditating more on the word of God, we will get to that point where it becomes quite easy to be still and receive heavenly insights. Can we expect God to speak to us let alone show us what’s wrong with our approach to particular situations, if we don’t learn to be still before Him? A lot of folks hold fast to certain beliefs and ways of life that give no room for change. Until they present themselves before God in absolute stillness, nothing changes.

Insights provide and reveal solutions to certain problems. Insights release creativity. They identify barriers and overcome them. Insights break bad habits and release your ability to overcome them. If you want the benefits of insights, you have to make insights your priority. I pray, receive the grace to do so today. In Jesus name!

Today’s corporate prayer: Holy Spirit, empower my decision to learn to wait on you for divine insights. In the name of Jesus!
