Stirring divine creativity

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you…(II Timothy 1:6, NKJV).

Everyone was born to solve some problems. That’s why we were made in God’s image and likeness. We were designed to be problem solvers. In the parable of the talents, it became obvious that God wants us to end up bigger than how we started. God made the world with lots of resources (materials, human, spiritual, etc) which we can harness to transform ‘little things’ to the ‘bigger things’ we desire.

For example, God made times and seasons but man produced clocks, watches and weather instruments. He made limestone while man manufactured cement. He created trees and man made furniture. He created sugarcane while man produced sugar. God deposited crude oil in the deep earth but man got petrol, diesel, kerosene, and so on, out of it. We could go on and on.

Stirring the gifts within you brings out the best in whatever you do. It brings the difference between two people doing the same job or business. Stirring the divine gifts within us makes us to challenge the status quo. It makes us to ask questions and seek to get better ways of handling and solving difficult questions. Until you decide to stir up your spirit man, improving on your manner of operation remains difficult.

Today, diligence and creativity are two factors that make the difference between the rich and poor countries of the world. Creativity is God’s gift in you that must be stirred up. If you don’t stir it up it remains dormant. And don’t forget that God made you to be creative. If you ask Him He will show you your areas of ingenuity.

Today’s corporate prayer: Anything paralysing my creativity, expire forever! In the mighty name of Jesus!
