Times and Seasons
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1, NIV).
Do you compare yourself with some friends, age mates or colleagues and then feel unhappy? Do you see yourself as more disadvantaged, untalented or unsuccessful than others? Have you therefore developed a sense of inferiority complex, and started regretting or blaming someone for your ‘plight’?
The Lord’s words come to mind. “Many who are greatest now will be least important then and those who seem least important now will be greatest then (Matthew 19:30, NLT). From time to time, and all over the world, we see men’s lives unexpectedly turn negative from positive, and positive from negative.
That you are not ahead now does not mean that you too cannot be better than this. That’s why we should be careful how we treat people; especially those ones we think we are better than. In the same vein, that you are behind now doesn’t mean you can’t be ahead later.
God is still in the business of changing lives. He is the God of surprises. We still see His goodness and mercies as they manifest in lives around us. He’s constantly changing people’s stories to glories. At His appointed time and in His sovereignty, He visits the most unexpected person, at a time least expected and in a most unusual manner, just to take everyone by surprise.
So, stay in God. Follow him diligently and prayerfully. Focus on serving Him and not on your circumstances or what you can get only. I pray, God’s grace will see you through. In Jesus most-powerful name!
Today’s corporate prayer: I command the root of my discouragement to wither. In the mighty name of Jesus!
