Adversity
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (Isaiah 43:2, KJV)
That we shall all pass through difficult times, at one point or the other, is a stark reality. God may not prevent certain troubles from coming our way but He assures us of His presence when they come.
We shouldn’t see adversity as an obstacle. This is because it toughens us and reveals to us our latent strength in Christ. In Ray David’s words, ‘A challenge only becomes an obstacle when you bow to it’.
Benjamin Disraeli noted that ‘there is no education like adversity’. How true! Don’t run from adversities. They are God’s training ground where he shapes His men. So don’t give up during your trials no matter how tough they are. And mind you, your true capacity is revealed when you have gone through life’s university and have passed an examination called adversity!
If the devil is throwing stones at you, it’s because He sees that you are a fruitful tree. The devil doesn’t waste his weapons on spiritual nonentities. If you are facing some challenges, it’s because there are some potentials in you that the devil is afraid of. Stay connected to God, no matter how stormy your journey gets. I pray; your adversity shall bow to you. In Jesus name!
