Death or life?
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23, KJV).
Churches treat sin and sinners differently. While some are hard on sinners, others pamper them. The latter group overlook sinner’s sin and emphasize that God loves them.
But sin is unacceptable to God. His nature has zero tolerance for it. Behind most negative occurrences is sin. Sin pays no attention to God. Sin fuels pride. Sin opens the door for unbelief and defeat. Sin impoverishes. Sin demotes. Sin defaces heavenly beauty. It corrupts glorious destinies and strengthens the devil’s attacks. It severes man from God. Sin is a reproach.
Sin is sin no matter who is committing it. If sin is not addressed as the poison that it is, it will go from being unwanted to being tolerated; and from being tolerated to being celebrated. Sin is now boldly displayed and blatantly glorified. Things that used to be regarded as shameful are now openly talked about without respect for morality or God’s word. Those indulging in them claim to be simply honest as if ‘honesty’ is an excuse for disobeying God’s words or an exemption from sin’s consequences.
Friend, sin is more than a sickness. It is a killer disease. Until it is dealt with, man is killing himself gradually; for the wages of sin is death. In your own interest, take heed unto yourself. May we receive grace to flee sin. In Jesus name!
