Full Recovery (Part 2)

Full Recovery (Part 2)

Nothing was missing: small or great, son or daughter, nor anything else that had been taken. David brought everything back (I Samuel 30:19, NLT).

We are still on the same topic we considered yesterday. Hope you still remember that while David and his men were away, some enemies raided their camp and made away with their wives and children? Do you also recall that David and his men wept and wept until they had no strength left to continue weeping? But David sought the Lord’s face. The Lord instructed them to pursue. They found a dying man and revived him with food and drinks. The man then gave them the information that led to the recovery of their families.

There are a few things to learn from this event. One, weeping solves no problem. Instead it compounds problems and make them look unsolvable. Two, David had to seek for strength in the Lord. The Bible says he encouraged himself in the Lord. So in the midst of trouble, discouragement and rejection, the best thing to do is to encourage yourself in the strength of God’s words. Seeking God’s face for help should not be the last thing to do but the first.

Three, when his spirit was lifted, he was able to encourage others too; and they swung into action immediately. You can’t encourage others until you have encouraged yourself.

Four, some people were too weak for the fight. The rest didn’t allow that to discourage them. They fought on and they eventually won the victory. So dear friend, don’t be discouraged by the weakness of your partner(s), siblings or spouse. Instead, be strong for them.

Five, you don’t have to be so engrossed with your problem that you neglect others that you can help. In helping others lies the victory over many problems. These five scripture-based steps can give us full recovery from the enemy. I pray; we shall recover everything we have lost to the enemy. In Jesus awesome name!

Today’s corporate prayer: Grip of discouragement upon my life, wither! In the mighty name of Jesus!
