God’s unchangeability
I am the LORD, and I do not change…’ (Malachi 3:6, NLT).
Unlike the weather, God does not change; so you can trust that His promises always come true. That’s why the Bible says, ‘For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in him. That is why we say “Amen” when we give glory to God through Christ.’ (II Corinthians 1:20, NLT).
When you stand on the promises God made in His word, God reveals Himself as the Truth who fulfills His words to you. There are so many truths in His word about what He has done for us and what we can expect from Him as His children.
But our enemy the devil does everything to keep us from reading the word of God because he doesn’t want us to discover those promises and truths. Even when some folks see these truths, he deceives them into disbelieving that such promises were only meant for the people of Bible times; thereby creating the impression that God has changed and no longer moves today like He did in those days.
Friend, the Bible says, Forever O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89). What that means is, God’s word stands firm and cannot be changed. Another verse of the Bible says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). God speaks the truth and Satan always tells lies. Jesus called the devil a liar (John 8:44). When the devil tells you that God cannot fulfill His word in your life, you should be wise enough not to believe a liar and the father of lies.
God doesn’t change, so is His word. Search the scriptures for His promises for you and stand firmly on them. The devil cannot stand those who stand on God’s word. I pray, receive the grace to stand on God’s word. In Jesus name!
Today’s corporate prayer: O Lord, help me to stand firm on your word so as to be unmoved by contrary things happening around me. In the name of Jesus!
