Holiness:The beauty of a true believer

Holiness:The beauty of a true believerHoliness:The beauty of a true believer

Psalm 110:3 “Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.”

Holiness of heart and life is the beauty of a true believer in Christ, as revealed in the Revelation Christ gave to John the beloved when he said, “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.”

This tells us that holiness is the garment of beauty God sees in the life of a Christian: Inward holiness and outward holiness. And that’s why the scripture says, “Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” It’s not in the beauty of make-ups, not in the display of mannequins, but rather in the very beauty of holiness.

I need you to understand this. It is not our outward attire, or our trendy disposition that acquaints us with holiness. Rather, it’s the inward beauty of the heart, having the power of God’s grace ruling therein. Hence, whatever beauty you have, if holiness is not in your heart, God does not recognize that beauty. This is because anything that does not tend to holiness, is ugliness in the sight of God. For the LORD loveth the righteous, and them who are of a pure heart.

Imagine this. Some people spend more time to stare at the mirror to see how good they look more than they look at the Bible, which ought not to be so. If we want to get to heaven, we must repent from all these. For the Lord delighteth not in the vain appearance of thy countenance. “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, shall be praised.”

Let us seek the LORD in fervent prayers, and allow the Lord to beautify us with his grace and gifts, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Art thou beautiful? Art thou a bride so furnished for the bridegroom? Answer to God!
