The rate of unemployment is always increasing because school runs various programs like Sandwich degree programme, full time, part time,… Yearly we have between 300,000 to 500,000 fresh graduates.

Lecturers retirement age is now 70 years old. So room for unemployed people. No vacancy in companies. The few available vacancies will require 15 years experience. No wonder thousands of people will apply to fill the space available for only 2 people. So the unemployment rate is high.

Unemployment has made many to partake in ungodly act. Some have become kidnappers, arm robbers, sex workers, frauds, miscreants, etc.

It has made some associate with wrong people. Some are underemployed. Some are doing the work they don’t like doing. Some are working with the people they don’t like.

WHAT TO DO

Truth be told, federal government can’t provide jobs for all.

We must discover where our passions lie

Learn from experts in your area of interest.

You don’t have to start big. Start with the little you have.

You must not be shy.

Associate with the people that needs what you have.

Begin to do what you enjoy doing.

For example: if you like driving, rent a car and then register with Uber, Bolt or in-driving. If you can make 5 to 8 trip per day, you will have nothing less than #10,000.

You can also open a barbing saloon. 10 customers a day is between #3,000 & #4,000.

If you are good in music, you can learn how to handle or play musical instruments. Churches today pay instrumentalists.

If yours is computing, you can learn foreign trade from experts. You can also be buying and selling from other countries.

If you are very sound academically, you can become home tutor. Moving from one place to another teaching. Place advertisement on social media.

Aside from education, it’s advisable to learn a skill. Skills like fashion designer, carpentry, engineering, etc.

You can also venture into trade. Sell products that people need, not what they will buy for buying sake or that has to do with season. You can sell foodstuffs.

You also need to know your target: old people, children, males, females, youth, etc.

I pray God will open your eyes to see where your opportunity lies in Jesus name.
