Sanctification: Is it sinless?

Sanctification:Is it sinless? Sanctification: Is it sinless?

Ephesians 5:26-27 “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

The experience of sanctification is a gracious experience that every true believer in Christ is expected to have. It’s an experience that brings you into the dimension of the heavenly life. Sanctification enthrones Christ in the heart, and the love of God encapsulates the heart which makes the believer to love God with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his mind; these are the great results of sanctification.

Sanctification is an operation of the Holy Spirit wrought in the heart of a believer by faith. Sanctification is an instantaneous experience, wherein the LORD God circumcises the heart: cuts off the original sin, the adamic nature, the inbred sin, the corrupt nature, the degeneracy, and the propensity to sin. It is not a feeling experience, but by faith. The blood of Christ is sprinkled in the conscience, the seat of the heart by the Spirit of God; purifies the heart from all uncleanness, and purges the self life.

Sanctification emanates from holiness of heart, which is the outward manifestation of holiness of life. Sanctification separates the soul from moral corruption, the world, and cleaves the soul to the love of Christ. Sanctification is therefore instantaneous but can be improved on. We can grow in sanctification, but we can’t grow into sanctification.

However, we come to this question: is it sinless? Well I cannot tell, but what the scripture reveals, is what I will declare. “Whosoever is born of God sinneth not, and he that is begotten of God keepeth himself. Possessing his vessel in sanctification and honour, as the LORD hath called us to holiness. For it is written, be ye holy, for I am holy. The experience of sanctification is to make the bride of Christ spotless and blameless, and to present him faultless before his exceeding glory, and present it to himself a glorious church.

Here comes another: Can a sanctified believer sin? Well, there is no excuse to sin. No more can Satan and a sanctified soul agree. For what ye yield yourselves to obey, his servants ye are. You’ll say, Adam was sanctified, but he sinned. You talk about Adam? There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Let us therefore understand this. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness we lie, and do not the truth: for whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Being then made free from sin, we became servants of God, and we have our fruit unto holiness, and the end, everlasting life. Therefore, as we walk in the light, as he is in the light, and we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Sanctification: is the purity of heart and life. Whose cause is to follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
