The Second Chance
Mathew 27:15 -26
Why will Barabbas die when JESUS was there? Why will he die when JESUS came to save man from destruction? Barabbas didn’t have to die again because JESUS actually left Heaven to come and die for Barabbas and everyone.
When JESUS was there, why will Barabbas go to Hell fire? They had to release Barabbas so that JESUS would carry the death sentence of Barabbas. JESUS gave him a second chance! JESUS carried the death sentence of everyone.
- You have listened to many preachers.
- You have listened to many messages.
- You have read many books.
- Many Pastors have spoken to you.
- GOD had sent many people to you.
- Your wife had told you to stop smoking, you wouldn’t listen.
- Your teacher had told you to stop examination malpractice, you wouldn’t listen.
- Your parents had told you to stop prostitution, you wouldn’t listen.
- Your friend had told you to end that destructive lifestyle, you wouldn’t listen.
This is another chance for you to change.
Did you know that;
- You could have been poisoned but GOD prevented that.
- You could have been involved in a fatal accident but GOD intervened.
- You could have died as a result of that sickness but GOD healed you.
- You could have died in prison but GOD brought you out.
- You could have been hit by a stray bullet but GOD preserved you.
- You could have been sacked from work but GOD kept you.
- You could have died in your sleep but GOD had mercy.
- You could have died in a fire outbreak but GOD rescued you.
- You could have been expelled from school but GOD didn’t let that happen.
- You could have received spiritual attacks but GOD protected you.
- You could have been robbed by armed robbers but GOD stopped them.
- You could have been raped but GOD saved you.
- You could have been kidnapped but GOD rescued you.
- You could have fallen into sexual temptation but GOD sustained you.
- You could have been running helter skelter over your wife, husband, children but GOD has always been there for you.
- You could have run mad but GOD said no.
- You could have contracted HIV/AIDS or other STDs but GOD divinely protected you.
Like Barabbas, GOD gave you a second chance! All the undeserved favour you have received is GOD’S Second chance. Change your ways before GOD today. GOD is saying to you today like he said to Abraham in Genesis 17:1 ” I am the Almighty GOD; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”
You may not have any other opportunity again.
This is divine yellow card. I hope you know what a player will receive after receiving 2 yellow cards?
Who knows what will happen in the next few hours?
Another opportunity may not come your way again.
Give your life completely to JESUS today!
You cannot continue to live in sin and expect the grace of GOD to increase.
- Say “NO” to Bribery and Corruption.
- Say NO to pride.
- Say NO to dishonesty.
- Say NO to lying, abusing, ungodly sex, smoking, alcoholic drinks, fighting, placing curse on people, unprofitable arguments, cheating and so on.
- Don’t keep malice, don’t work against anyone’s progress.
- Say NO to all ungodly acts.
GOD bless you for making a decision for CHRIST.

Say this powerful prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner. Please forgive my sins. I confess with my mouth that you are my Lord and Saviour. I believe that God raised you from death. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. I say goodbye to the devil. Please write my name in the Book of Life.
