Defending your stand for holiness

Defending your stand for holinessDefending your stand for holiness

1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

True and faithful Christians who are committed to leading holy lives in all of their conversations are sure that there is a great reward and crown that awaits them if they continue in holiness.

But we should be aware that the trigger may be pulled at us as for our stand for scriptural holiness. So, let us sanctify our hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh us a reason of the hope that is in us with meekness and fear.

The scripture calls us to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. That is, the whole fundamental truth of the bible, which encapsulate itself in Hebrews 12:14 “follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”

Many people think that God is not serious, and that as other verses are put in the chronological scriptural order, so, that verse was just inscribed there. But as Christians we are to come out to defend it. How? By our lives and conversations. Let others see Jesus in us, and holiness demonstrated in our lives which would convince them who do not believe in holiness to eventually ascertain that holiness of heart and life is attainable.

Let no man despise it, but be thou an example of it in word, conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity, cause this is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation. Ye are the salt of the earth, ye are the light of the world; live for him, and let your light so shine before men, that they might see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

We are not to defend our stand for holiness by fighting, quarreling, arguing, boasting, by storing scriptural verses about holiness in our brain; no that’s not it. We are to defend holiness by not only being hearers of the word of holiness, but doers of it.

It has to be practically demonstrated in our day to day lives. This gives us an edge in our quest to convince the world and the people around us that HOLINESS unto God is possible. And that by grace, we can live the life of holiness which God has called everyone of us into.
