The way of the righteous

The way of the righteous The way of the righteous

Proverbs 4:18 “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”

Righteousness is of great worth in the sight of the LORD. That’s why the scripture says “God loveth the righteous.” The LORD is a righteous God, and them that followeth after righteousness, he delighteth in them. The great men in the Bible were able to leave landmarks in their time because of their righteousness, and by that, obtained a good report. Herein, the memory of these just men is blessed. We have their antecedents today as an admonition for us to tread in the path way of righteousness.

Who is a righteous man?

A righteous man will always seek to do what will please the LORD. A righteous man eschews evil, and never parleys with temptation. A righteous man shines the light of his Christ everywhere he goes, and the world around him really sees the light of salvation in his conversations. A righteous man is not hypocritical, else he won’t be righteous: “knowing that the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of hypocrite but for a moment.”

A righteous man will not engage in anything that doesn’t stand for what isn’t good, and well pleasing in the sight of the LORD. A righteous man will not connive with sin, nor sinners, but at all times, strives against sin. A righteous man takes every of the word of God serious, and stands by it all the days of his life. A righteous man knows that he is called to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Hence, will not allow his going to heaven to depend on the smile on somebody’s face, or the frown on peoples’ faces.

A righteous man is committed to holiness, and holiness never counts his companions. A righteous man doesn’t follow the peremptory of the multitude. A righteous man knows he has only one business on earth – to save souls. A righteous man is a giver, and that with pure intention, different from the disposition of the Pharisees. A righteous man is known not by sounding his own trumpet in the streets, but by the conduct of his day to day life.

A righteous man is bold enough to rebuke them that sin, in love, and declare the cause of God unto the ignorant. A righteous man is recognized in heaven as a child of God, as a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, among the peculiar people of God.

Lastly, he offers his body daily unto the LORD as a living sacrifice. A righteous man suffereth long, and is not easily provoked. A righteous man is worth more than 120 princes and presidents of the province of Babylon.

Are You Righteous?

Don’t ever forget that only the righteous will inherit that new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness. And only the righteous will partake of the rapture of the church of Christ.
