Understanding Your Time

Understanding Your Time

Those people worked only one hour, and yet you’ve paid them just as much as you paid us who worked all day in the scorching heat (Mathew 20:12; NLT).

In Mathew 20:1-15, we read some about some workers who worked in a vineyard. Some of them were called to work very early and others much later. Some worked for long hours while others worked for just one hour. At the end of their different durations of work, they got the same reward according to the promise of the vineyard owner. It is significant that what those workers got depended on the vineyard owner, not the workers.

Perhaps you’ve been serving for long and endured different types of hardships, and have been wondering when your reward will come. You see those who haven’t served for as long as you have, but have been getting great rewards and blessings.

Don’t let that discourage you. God is fulfilling His promises for them. That’s His timing for them. Sooner than you think, He’ll give you your blessings and rewards too. Don’t join the class of people who, because of challenges and trying circumstances, conclude that God is partial, unjust and unfair.

Instead of giving in to discouragement, continue serving the Lord in the assignments He has given you. Endure challenges. Keep prayer alive. Don’t forget that the Bible instructs us to pray without ceasing; and that’s irrespective of whether situations are favourable or not.

Even if things were ‘okay’, you would still have needed to pray. Prayer is one thing that makes testimonies unstoppable. I pray, your blessings shall not elude you. In mighty name of Jesus!

Today’s corporate prayer: Every false dream and vision, assigned to mesmerize my life, be paralyzed. In the mighty name of Jesus!
