Why you need to accept Jesus while you still can

Why you need to accept Jesus while you still can

An idiom says, “make hay while the sun shines”. But there are a lot who know they should take a decisive stand for God by accepting Jesus as their Lord and Saviour yet they haven’t. Although, they believe in Jesus, they even love him (so some say), they know the implications of dying without Jesus or the Rapture taking place without their being saved.

In spite of, all of the above and much more, many still find it extremely difficult to dump sin once and for all. Many who procrastinated surrendering to Jesus have departed from this world without finally getting the chance to actually do it. Now the question is, what will be the fate of such people? The Bible holds the answer to this as we’ll see later.

Why Do Many Put Off Accepting Jesus?

The excuses many who know the truth about the Gospel of Christ give vary from person to person.
Some are along these lines:

  • “Oh!, lemme get into the college or university first before I accept Jesus”
  • “Oh!, lemme enjoy my teenage hood”.
  • “lemme explore, I’m still young and youthful”.
  • “lemme get married and have kids”.

Some other excuses some also give are, I need to graduate, make money, enjoy life, etc. This brings me to the next but very important question.

Does Jesus Stand in the Way of Our Dreams?

From the above listed excuses, it appears like Jesus is a huge hindrance to our achieving our dreams. But the truth is, Jesus has all of our best interests at heart. You can’t possibly want the best for yourself more than God does for you. Therefore, none of the reasons and excuses you would come up with will ever be tenable.

3 John 1:3 says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

Hence, you can achieve all of your dreams and actually live them out to the fullest because that’s what God wants for you. He wants to direct, order your steps and deliver His blessings into your hands, including giving you a place in His kingdom in eternity. Your place isn’t in hell but it will be for those who take God’s grace, His enduring mercies and Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for granted.

Yes, just in case, it hasn’t crossed your mind, if you’ve deliberately been pushing Jesus aside so you can live your life the way you want (in sin), then you’ve taken God and Christ’s sacrifice for granted.

This post isn’t meant to condemn you, no, not at all. It’s coming the way I’m led to spur you into doing the needful now. And the needful is to finally surrender your life totally to Jesus while there’s still time. We still live under the dispensation of grace but that won’t last forever. This is the terrible truth!

The grace God has extended to everyone to repent will definitely be over someday. Either through death or the rapture. After the rapture, God’s grace will cease. You’re not ready for the untold horrors that will be unleashed on this earth after the rapture. No one can ever be ready for this. Not to mention hell which follows those horrors.

Mathew 13:41-42 “The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all causes of offense [persons by whom others are drawn into error or sin] and all who do iniquity and act wickedly, And will cast them into the furnace of fire; there will be weeping and wailing and grinding of teeth.”

Finally, the above fate isn’t what anyone can take. Thus, I urge you to make peace with Jesus today and escape the unimaginable (a hellish life in eternity).
