A praying lifestyle

A praying lifestyle

‘And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray…’ (Matt. 14:23, NKJV).

To any serious Christian, prayer is not an option. God’s vessels are trained in the secret place of prayer. The depth of a person’s prayer life determines the height of his fulfillment in Christ. Not praying is to be playing. Everyone who fails to pray soon becomes a prey. The Lord sometimes withdraw from a prayerless folk or allow a challenge to come his way. This takes him to a higher class in the college of prayer.

If life has been rosy, many people would not have run to God in prayers. Not many would have actually taken prayers seriously if there were no difficult knots to untie or knotty battles to face. So, the purpose of life’s storm is not just in the fact that it upsets and mesmerizes, its essence is to make us fit into the assignment that is before us and to be a source of succor to others later.

I have read and heard about many mighty men of prayer. Their lives remain a challenge to our generation. By their prayers, challenges and obstacles always gave way. Friend, there is a future for a praying fellow no matter the storms threatening to sink his ship. Prayer empowers us to stand strong in the face of fierce opposition. It gives us a peaceful calm in the midst of a raging storm. It unravels mysteries and brings about spiritual clarity.

When some folks pray for thirty minutes a day, they think they have really prayed. Whereas, there are others who feel they haven’t prayed enough if they pray for only two hours. If you haven’t been praying, thirty minutes a day might be a good place to start depending on what is after you or what you are after. When you can see that a lion is after you, you can’t be at the level of speed with a person being pursued by a puppy. Dear friend, we cannot afford not to pray. May we receive divine prayer grace.

Today’s corporate prayer: Father Lord, release your prayer fire into my bones. In the mighty name of Jesus!
